The April 11 Indie Verse Book Event was fantastic!

What a fantastic day of connection and creativity at the Indie Verse Book Event here in Adelaide. It was a pleasure signing copies of Les Aventures de Paris et Freddie and engaging with such a vibrant community of readers, educators, and fellow creatives.

A special thank you to Portia Stanton-Noble for organising such an outstanding event that celebrates the talent of South Australian authors and illustrators.

And thanks to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation, and supported my bilingual book!

What a wonderful exhibition!

Hot on the heels of my April 11 book signing was the opening of my exhibition of graphic novels and comic books in language education on April 19 at the Adelaide Comic and Toy Fair!

This exhibition highlighted the dynamism of comics as pedagogical tools in language classrooms, demonstrating how visual storytelling supports oracy, literacy development, creativity, and learner engagement.

During the event, I discussed my Language in Action pedagogy with teachers and students who attended the exhibition, showcasing how language meditation, comics, drama, and improvisation can create rich, embodied, and imaginative pathways into language learning.

Special thanks to all the languages teachers who purchased copies of my new bilingual book during the event!

Creativity is a language classroom superpower!

What a fantastic masterclass with tertiary language students, participating in Language in Action, my groundbreaking pedagogy that is transforming the way we learn and teach languages!

In our theoretical and practical sessions, we explored how sequential art, language meditation, drama, and improvisation can bring classrooms to life and inspire learners of all ages. It’s exciting to see how creative approaches can unlock confidence, curiosity, and genuine connection.

As an advocate for innovative teaching, I integrate comics, storytelling, and embodied learning to create immersive, accessible, and student-centred experiences. This approach continues to have a real impact in educational settings across all age demographics.

Special thanks to the students for allowing me to share these fantastic images!

After completing the South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, ACT, and NSW stages of the tour, the 2026 tour stages journey to North Queensland, North America, and Canada!
