language in action in canberra, australia!

Special thanks to Lena Britton, Language Faculty (French & EAL/D), French Network Leader, Campbell High School | Education Directorate | A.C.T. Government in Canberra, for bringing me to Canberra and presenting a series of linguistic masterclasses to students at Campbell High School and teachers from the French Teachers Network participating in a professional learning event.

My teaching methodology Language in Action™ offers several advantages for enhancing second language acquisition in the classroom through its unique blending of sequential art, improvisation, language meditation, and drama.

During the tour, I had a fantastic time engaging with a highly motivated class of students and a dynamic group of French teachers.

The French students at Campbell High School received my new language class with great enthusiasm!

I'm thrilled to head back to Canberra later this year as a presenter at the Modern Language Teachers Association of the A.C.T. annual conference!

Special thanks to Lena Britton, Language Faculty (French & EAL/D), French Network Leader, Campbell High School | Education Directorate | A.C.T. Government in Canberra for this stunning post masterclass presentation testimony!

I look forward to my next series of linguistic masterclasses for teachers and students in 2025!

AnimeGo, what fun!

The AnimeGO Japan Pop Culture Festival attracted thousands of pop culture fans during the day-long event, as part of the annual Oz Asia Festival on October 29.
I had a fantastic attendance during my linguistic presentation about the influence of Anime and Manga on global society.

Thanks to Mr Matt Bushell for this beautiful testimony post-speaking presentation at AnimeGo Japanese Pop Culture Festival in Adelaide.

Stuart delivered a presentation on Japanese manga and anime and its influence on Western pop culture at our AnimeGO festival in 2023. He is lively, visually entertaining, engaging, and an expert in not only pop culture but also languages and their relationship to culture. Stuart also offered an in-person ‘meet-and-greet’ with the audience after the presentation, which was a great chance for the festival attendees to ask questions.

On the road again!

Capricon Pop Culture Convention, Rockhampton North Queensland, August 27

I had a great time with the audience at Capricon Pop Culture Convention in Rockhampton, North Queensland, during my linguistic presentation about languages created for the tv and film industry!

Included in this leg of the tour was a constructed language keynote to pop culture fans and language enthusiasts about languages explicitly created for the TV and film industry, for example; the Klingon language; where it is spoken and to which language family it belongs, number of speakers and percentage of children speaking it; basic knowledge in a language such as greetings; unique characteristics; and information about where it might be possible to continue to learn the language in Australia or online.

The constructed language presentation was a hit with the audience with plenty of interaction during the post-presentation Q&A!

My second presentation at CapriCon Rockhampton investigated the 'Politics of Tintin,' specifically the linguistic context, stereotypes, representations, and controversies in the early Tintin albums and period children's storybook adventures.

Special thanks to the audiences attending both presentations!

During the convention the first stage of marketing and promoting my exciting bilingual storybook adventure, The Adventures of Paris and Freddie, was undertaken. The adventure is written in the French and English languages, and set in the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia!

I look forward to engaging with audiences during the next legs of the tour in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne!
